Spyfall card game buy3/2/2024 But watch out! If your questions and answers are too specific, the Spy will easily guess the location and win, so you need to practice a bit of subtlety. Non-Spy players want to ask questions and give answers that prove to the other players that they know where they are. The Spy doesn’t know where they are, but wins the round if they can figure it out before they blow their cover! Players then start asking each other questions during the intense 8-minute rounds. Play only with people you know well, and do several practice rounds before starting.Prepare to go undercover in, Spyfall! This easy-to-learn bluffing party game pits players against one another as they try to uncover the identity of the Spy, while the Spy must identify where the action is taking place.Īt the start of each round in Spyfall, players receive a secret card informing them of the group’s location – a casino, space station, pirate ship, circus, (30 unique locations!) – except one player receives the Spy card instead of the location. I suppose it's unusual for anyone to be in my situation and be the spy almost every time with no knowledge of what, how many or what type of locations were possible, but the way the spy is excluded and then laughed at for this is just generally not a nice vibe in my opinion. ![]() I think this is because when you are the Spy, you don't just lose, you lose and get laughed at. It really did feel like a structured bullying session with the victim decided by the turn of a card. A lot of people (me included) just find this open-endedness creates stress and pressure.Īnd I felt like I was ruining it for everyone else because I just didn't get it. On the flip side there's a huge amount of pressure to come up with something really erudite and witty when both asking and answering questions, because it's so open-ended. It's all about laughing at the spy for their ignorance with no thought to whether there's anything in it for the spy. It brought back bad memories of being bullied when I was younger - about not being in on personal in-jokes at my expense, but being expected to join in with them. Everyone else was laughing hysterically, but being the spy I had no clue why. I was the spy twice, got found out instantly, and felt really humiliated and had no fun whatsoever. No one even considered it might be worth showing people the locations before playing. I was in a mixed group (some people I know well, others I don't - some people who've played loads before some who hadn't) I was introduced to this this week and hated it more than any game I have ever played. Don't be generic, be blunt, be specific, and if you mess up and end up getting discovered, it'll probably be funny. It's an excuse to be funny with your friends. I also prefer to think of it as a non-competitive game. I would never play it without the roles, though. Although if I played the game a lot with the same group, I would play it the normal way.Įdit: I totally forgot to answer how do I like the gameplay. It's "worse" but makes the game more relaxing/easy for the spy. We usually play with a variant, being able to tell the location after being voted as a spy. Not really the intended way, except in one of their latest videos, but they have a lot of fun and those videos are pretty popular. I really hate the game doesn't come with a reference sheet of all the locations.Īlso, the youtubers Node, from ¿USA? play the game a lot. I like it, but I prefer to play it on the phone. It's not hyper popular but I think it sold pretty well. ![]() In Spain it's sold as "El espía que se perdió" (The spy who got lost). r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games. ![]() Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
